My home town Ngatea is becoming a plastic bag free town. On July 7 2018, many stores will stop using plastic bags for good and will join the race to be the first town in New Zealand thats plastic bag free. Our local 4square are selling re useable bags at a lose the bags cost $4.67 to make but they are selling for $3.99 or $5 for 2. If you don't have enough money on you, You can use a boomerang bag. A boomerang bag is a bag made from old curtains, sheets (ect) and made by volunteers. There free but you have to bring them back when you use them. I think this is a great idea because i'm sick of seeing plastic bags on our beach. (plus having first plastic bag free town on our sign sounds pretty cool)
